This is a recreation in acrylic paint on illustration board of the Penguin Classics Deluxe Edition (2006) of Lady Chatterley's Lover. This is one of two recreations of this cover painted in 2021, the other done in full colour. The illustration board measures 29 x 20 inches. The image area is inches. We asked Chester about the recreation of these images. "It’s fun revisiting old work and getting to reimagine it. I particularly enjoyed seeing what a different sort of colour scheme would have been like for the edition of Lady Chatterley’s Lover that I did for Penguin several years ago. And it might sound like a minor thing, but it made me happy to put a “proper” Penguin logo on one of these. On the printed version, the art director made the logo very small (because the words “deluxe edition” had to be incorporated into the logo’s design).
