After appearing in several indy anthologies, Jessica Abel launced the popular mini-comic series, Artbabe, in 1992, quickly establishing herself as one of the best young cartoonists of the 90s. In 1997 she began a second Artbabe series at venerable publisher Fantagraphics. They have since published two collections of of her work, Soundtrack: Short Stories 1989-1996, and Mirror, Window.

She has just finished her mini-series, La Perdida, a story of a young woman's adventures south of the border, at Fantagraphics. Look for a collection from Pantheon in 2006. Jessica makes her home online at www.artbabe.com.
